The SM&LC Mineral Collection
The mineral collection of the Scottish Mineral & Lapidary club has been assembled and curated over the last 70 years and now numbers over 5000 specimens. It is made up of specimens from around the world as well as a great many Scottish and UK pieces.
There are also several sub collections within it, namely the Walter Browne Marble Collection, The Free Church Collection as well as a comprehensive Scottish agate and many spectacular pieces that have been collected and donated by our members.
The collection itself is too large to display in its entirety, but thanks to our ever enthusiastic curators, our display is routinely changed every month or so. We recently started the rotation again from the beginning – It took 10 years!
Visitors to the club can see a great many more specimens on display – why not pay us a visit?
